By hand I'd say. If you can get your hands on some very lightweight dressmaking pins (I think they call them lace pins), roll a tiny hem and pin then do a slip stitch just catching a weeny bit of the fabric at each stitch it'll be good. I am old fashioned so perhaps there's a better way these days but with a beautiful fine fabric sometimes the old ways give a better result? It will be painstaking.

If your machine is a good one with a rolled hem attachment, this is the best way to go, for a more professional appearance. Practice first until you have the procedure down pat, before you attempt it on your gown.
