I wonder if there is a difference in the gas I use for my Mexican VW beatle (herbie type -- not the new one), and or would there be any benefit in using Premium instead of regular.

Do not put diesel in a car if it isn't made to run off diesel. Premium gas is mostly the same as regular, the only difference is that it burns with a higher octane

You could put a higher octane fuel in it, and it will run better but it won't get any better gas mileage and it will cost more.

Another thought is that you can mix the fuel. What I mean is you can put premium in one time and regular in the next so there will be somewhat of a median. It will run better than it would with just regular, but not as well as premium.

Again, DO NOT put diesel in a car that doesn't run off diesel if you don't want your car screwed up.

Premium will not make it "run too hot" that is BS, but there is no reason to use premium unless it is knocking.

Just use regular unleaded gasoline. NOT DIESEL for the love of God.
