A person is what you think in your mind. If you mean as a human being than there are alot of ways of describing a person.

The English term, "person," is ambiguous. A person is the kind of entity that has the moral right to make its own life-choices, to live its life without (unprovoked) interference from others.

At one time the general view was that people had souls, which, when they died went to heaven or hell, or else were reborn. The soul was considered the essential core of what a person was. This idea is perhaps less fashionable now, but it forms the basis of most religious beliefs. This belief in the separation of mind and body is known today as dualism.

The best example is your own example how you think, feel, relate and distinguish between people and things.

Person as a human being is the most sophisticated thing in this universe, by using his brain has gone to the core of this world and also discovering new Galaxies every day.

Capable of learning things as seen them, flying in the air like eagles and diving in the sea like dolphins and running faster than leopards on the ground.

These are some common examples of a person so a person can be Aristotle the inventor of subjects we study or Hulagu Khan who had taken hundreds of thousands of lives just to rule one city.

To appreciate what a person is, reflect on what you are. A conscious human being with unique feelings, personal history, memories, thoughts, attitudes, principles, values, skills, interests, desires, goals, and mental abilities. Your question is a good one, because it's almost impossible to appreciate who a given person really is, even if you spend years in a close friendship. A person is just too complex. This is what makes a relationship an adventure.
