Yes. I had a miscarriage @ 7 weeks and they did a vaginal ultrasound. All that was left was the sac the fetus would have been in. So, if they can see that (and that was 11 years ago--technology has gone a lot farther now!) they can see a fetus with a vaginal.
It is never easy--and I still remember every detail even 11 years and three children later.

yes, they would be able to tell if you had a miscarriage and usually if it is an eptopic pregnancy (a pregnancy in your fallopian tubes, which is deadly), however, sometimes they cannot tell if the pregnancy is tubal. If they don't see a fetus in the uterus, and they can't tell if there is anything in the tubes, they will take a blood test and test the HCG in your blood, and they will schedule you a follow up appointment, and they will compare the HCG from both of the tests, if it has gone down from the first test, it was a miscarriage, and if it has gone up chances are it is a tubal pregnancy and then you get to have surgery.

Yes they would be able to see the fetus. At 6 weeks it would look like a peanut.

They can see the fetus without any instruments but an ultrasound would detect the lack of a second heartbeat. Good luck.

Six weeks, really, is too soon to do this - for your own sake.

For our first (miscarriage), we couldn't tell 'til eight and a half weeks. And it looked like a skinny stick.

For our second (alleluia), we got a 1-inch long tadpole with a heartbeat at nine weeks. And a warning we could still miscarry.

Go for the ultra if you want - they're usually low-risk - but (based on our experience, at least) you should probably resign yourself to not knowing for sure until about thirteen weeks. And yeah, I know, that seems like forever.

If you bled with the miscarriage the foetus may be gone already. If it is still there, they shoudl be able to see it/the placenta, although it woudl be very small. All the best.

At six weeks and couple of days there is a visible heartbeat, so if it is there, the baby is ok.

I don't know about seeing it, but they would know if your body had a misscarriage.
