Okay, first off, lets look in the past 5 years for the Cavs first.
The Cavaliers before Lebron were horrible! I mean... 11 wins? I mean seriously. That's terrible. Ever since Lebron James came, they have been different. They know how to get better players now. They are a 60 win team and deserve to win the championships. This is Lebron's fourth NBA season and the cavs have been doing well. Lebron and the other players need to work on points first. Lebron shoots 30 points a game easily.
Without Lebron, the team also needs to be good without him. The Cavs will learn how to be a great team in 5 more years. They arleady are, and they'll get better. Daniel Gibson is a good start for the Cavs also.

Since you did ask to predict 5 years into the future, I say Cleveland, L.A., and Dallas because:
Cleveland b/c Lebron contract will last until then.
Dallas & L.A. b/c both owners are willing to spend tons of $$$ to get the best talent in free-agency.
The rest of the current great/good teams will start to see their superstars' talent deterioate. Spurs (Duncan will be in canes by then), Nash and the rest of the Suns will start to need oxygen in their style of play, Shaq will be dominated by his own kids due to old age and Wade can't carry the load alone, and Detroit - face it, their run is over. And the other teams will lose big time players due to free-agency and not sustain a run that would last more than 2 years.
On the bubble would be Utah (most players are team players and they just seem to make it work and they have those players lock for a few years).

The best team 5 years from now will be the Celtics, Bobcats, and the new look Pacers. Look at age, and where they are now. Some of these teams are one player away from the playoffs.I think with the trade the pacers are ready for a playoff push. This years draft is going to be good so anybody can get better this year but I look for the Celtics and the Bobcats To improve the most.

either bulls or bobcats. kobes age may start to factor in within the next five years and he may become less effective. bull and bobcats have young teams with more energy and who are inexperienced. in five years these teams will have good and experienced players. ben gordon could be a great offensive player in a few years

Thats hard because there are so many things that can change in that amount of time... I think that its between the Mavericks and the Phoenix Suns but trades can make a big difference. I guess we'll all just have to find out together!

Well considering the way that racist pig David Stern runs the NBA, in 5 years the NBA will most likely not be around.

The LeBrons.
The Carmello's.
The DeepWaders.
All 3 stars barely old enough to legally get a drink.
Wherever they go, the wins will follow, and should there be a combo deal, can you say dynasty?
