There used to be four divisions of Chrysler, prior to the merge with Daimler. You had Jeep, which they had purchased from American Motors. There was Dodge, Plymouth and Chrysler. The Chrysler line was the high line vehicles, Plymouth was the les expensive versions. Dodge had the same basic vehicles as Plymouth, along with the truck line!

When they ended the Plymouth nameplate, some of the better selling cars were re-badged as Chrysler. For example the Plymouth Voyager mini-van is now a Chrysler Voyager. They also have a version with nicer appointments that is the Chrysler Town and Country. Dodge has the Caravan, which comes in different trim levels.

The cars are made on the same line. Other than a few trim differences, they are the same basic cars!!

In North America:
The Company called Daimler Chrysler runs various different car companies, including Mercedes, Maybach, Smart, Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep

Those are subdivided into two car groups
>The higher end: Mercedes, Maybach, and Smart
>The Lower end : Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep

The companies in each sub group work very close together, sometimes even making the same vehicle and rebranding it. If so, dodge will the be lower, more affordable end as chrysler and jeep are the higher more expensive (with more options..etc.)

Some examples:
-Dodge Caravan and Chrysler Town and Country are two vans with the same body and everything, expect the T&C is more luxurious and done up nicer

-The Dodge Stratus and Chrysler Sebring are the same body, but once again the sebring being more luxurious with more options

Hope This helps

in the states the main difference is the badge. however dodge could be said to be the "poverty pack" compared to the chrysler models as the chrysler models have more options in general.

other than maybe a different grill and different badges, nothing really, and as far as options go, u can get the same options on both. Just Chrysler usually offers better packages.
