Of course. He shredded the credibility of our government and our intelligence agencies with his misinformation about Iraq. He is tremendously unpopular in nearly every single country in the world, which puts enormous political pressure on the leaders of those countries to NOT help us. The simple fact is, hatred of the United States is, unfortunately, at record highs throughout the world. Most US citizens no longer feel safe traveling abroad to much of the world. He has been a complete disaster.

Yes, but not like you think. The status of the USA has been declining since at least the 1960's as a result of social engineering experiments permitted to run amok. In the bigger picture, our decline started in the 1880's with the creation of the ICC. It accelerated in the early 1900's with the advent of the income tax, the appeasement of the socialist/communist movement (NLRA/NLRB), and the rise of big government under FDR (a whole alphabet soup of acts, agencies, commissions, and regulatory boards and court cases that ignored/rewrote the constitution).

By the 1960's, the continued decline was built into the system, especially the educational system. The great civil rights movement, a marvelous achievement paid for with the blood and lives of brave and courageous people of principle, was co-opted, sowing the seeds of what would later become political correctness. Greed and political corruption gave us Vietnam and the beginnings of epic power struggles. Political clout became so important that people would lie, cheat, and steal to get it, resulting in Watergate and the resignations of Nixon & Agnew, and probably already having precipitated the assassination of the Kennedys.

Carter further accelerated the decline with his spineless acceptance of terms dictated by rogue leaders and kidnappers (444 days, right?). The decline was slowed in the 1980's under Reagan, who for all of his faults actually had character and stood up for what was right rather than what was politically expedient. Given another 8 years, his idealism might have made the US a "shining city on a hill" once more.

Instead, we got the pragmatic Bush Sr., then Perot split the convervative vote and we got Clinton, a case study in ego, opportunism, favor trading, and poltical expedience. We also got Carter-like spinelessness and an unwillingness to use up some political capital to protect the country because it would harm his legacy and make him less popular. It was much easier to sit back, do nothing, and let the clock run out on his presidency so he & the dems could blame the republicans for taking actions which by that time had become long overdue.

Bush has weakened the international status of the USA by not being as honest and forthcoming as he could be, and by permitting the inference that big oil and corporate profiteers are driving (or at least massively influencing) foreign policy decisions. To change the status, he would have to repudiate the influencers, and have a more transparent administration relative to foreign policy decisions and the facts underlying them. He probably has done a better job than either Al Gore or John Kerry would have done, but whoever was in office from 2001 till now would have had the same 115 or so years of decline to fight against, and most don't even realize it.

George Bush has not weakened our status. Yeah other countries and people hate us. The only difference between now and years ago, is that we now know who these people are. They have always hated us. Look at all of the stuff that happened when Reagan was president or when JFK was at the helm. The only way America is weakened is by Americans. The old saying is most definitely true. United we stand and divided we fall. This country is definitely divided on ridiculous issues. Issues such as allowing a nativity scene or prayer in schools. Grow up America. We are Americans with the right to be who we are!!!! If we become more divided then the time will be ripe for another country to possibly invade our borders. Divided people in divided countries tend not to fight for their countries................look at Iraq.

The answer to that question is a definite yes. We had so much good will amassed after the tragedy of 9/11 and he squandered it by acting unilaterally and being oblivious to the recommendations of what could have been a host of worthy allies. He lied to the global community about the rationale to go into a sovereign country, and then he botched the job as soon as occupied it. His duplicity has caused us to lose face internationally, and thus our status has been greatly diminished.

No. I would say the continuous 4½ years of Democrat and their media whores whining and complaining and working against the President and the mission every step of the way have weakened the Status of the US.

By wavering about our commitments, by suggesting we appease the very people who are making the world unsafe, we are shown again and again how the Dems just don't understand things, and how they've damaged the US.

No, I don't think so.. What I think divide and weakened the USA is people that are always complaining about our President, like the Democratic/Liberals. We will not gain nothing to have a weak or divided country while we are in war.

I don't think so. New markets and opportunities for the relevant corporations have been created...If you look at the USA honestly, you'd see that it is an agressively capitalistic nation and this last war is towards the opening of new opportunities. I don't buy the drama behind the 'troops' thing. I see Vietnam vets begging on the street daily.

Duh. Yes. If you mean status in the sense of how other countries view us I say most certainly his policies in Iraq and the reasons given for why we're in Iraq have made us look untruthful and nosy at best. If you mean status in the sense of how our country is doing then I think so. He's obviously an oil man and has done his best to better the interest of his friends in the oil companies rather than focusing on alternative fuels. Of course, I am a democrat and therefore somewhat biased in my opinions.

Remember you only tackle the man with the ball in football, cause he is the only one who can score.
So you are just proving to me how much on the Ball he must be.
As a Canadian it seems to me He must be a great president , as well very effective, a man of great stature. Years a head of his time. Only many years from now will they honor Him.
Bush is a man of God. He can not tell you everything now can he? So others take advantage of that.
He is an honorable man of God.

Of course it has. Any enemy only has to realize that most of the country disagrees with the president and yet he stubbornly goes ahead with a no win policy. Of course they know we are weakened.. We are being led by a maniac.
