I have to do this project for art class where we have to come up with some sort of object that looks like each letter in our name.

My name is Katie and it can be upper case and/or lower case.

Example: For the letter O you could draw a doughnut or a ring.

I understand what you mean by "not ruining the art experiance" so could you give me some good places to find "inspiration" ?

Start with simple sketches. What does a K look like? The lower case one looks sort of like someone attempting a cartwheel with two legs in the air and one arm on the ground. You just need to add a head. A has a bell shape, sort of. It could also be the legs of a woman wearing a skirt. T or t are crosses or trees or a scarecrow. I or i are both open to interpretation and E has a half window shape, e looks kind of like an eye with a side of a nose dropping below it. Play around with the letters. Use a pencil with a good eraser. Art should be fun, so make a game of it.

The purpose of this project is for you to see things for what they could be, not for what they are. It may not sound like an important part of the art process, but it is. This kind of assignment can be really fun. I won't ruin you fun by giving you all the letters but here is one example. You go in the kitchen and look around. You see a lollipop on the counter. No, wait a minute!! It's not a lollipop, it's an "i". For the quickest way to do it, I would look through magazines for objects with similar shapes to the other letters of your name. Have fun and you'll start to see everything in a different way.

Use a basketball player doing a layup for the 'K' or maybe an ancient Egyptian. A bridge on a mountain for the 'A', An open umbrella for the 'T'. etc etc. Or just use Homer Simpson for all the letters. just use your imagination.

Well make it fun and look for things that besides from looking like the letters in your name represent you...like for example draw a kangaroo for K (heheh, that'd be cute, right?), and so on, I won't suggest objects for you to draw, cause it's your job, lol, but besides it'll be more fun for you, good luck!
