I just moved to the area and am looking for an open minded church family, preferably near Oak Cliff or Downtown?

I would suggest a church down in Lancaster about 20-30 minutes south of Dallas. It is Assembly of God but more interdenominational and also a good and progressive church family and I do know the pastor. Its located near the intersection of Pleasant Run and Dallas Dr on Rea Ave. Take 35 south to Pleasant Run make a left and go 4 miles it is just off Pleasant Run in a neighborhood to the right close to a bank . Other churches would include Oak Cliff Bible on Camp Wisdom a little closer or any other good church in the South Dallas area

Absolutely First Unitarian Church of Dallas at the corner of Mockingbird and Preston road. There is also a UU church in Oak Cliff - Jefferson Fellowship, I think. The Jefferson Fellowship is small, informal. First Church is nearly 1000 members, two services, more formal with an incredible music program. Both churches are Welcoming Congregations. Services are at 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 at First.

Fellowship Church is a multi-unit, nondenominational megachurch with multiple locations in the DFW area.

There's also the First Unitarian Church of Dallas in Oak Lawn. It's a very open minded, liberal church.

Then there are the Unity Churches, different from unitarian. I prefer these and there are locations all over DFW. The one in Irving is very tiny, and very close knit. The one in Dallas is much bigger with more programs.
