My picks for over-rated are: Derek Jeter, don't get me wrong he's a fantastic player, one of the best SS of all time, he occasionally hits for power, hits for average, and steals, not to mention his fielding. But people make it sound like he gets 220-240 hits year, 40-50 homers a year, and 50-100 steals a year. He's good but not that good. Alex Rodriguez is also very over-rated, as I said before he's great, most over-rated playerd are, but he'll have on of the best seasons ever, and then he'll go into a year long slump. Barry Bonds is incredibly over-rated, in his prime he was one of the best, now he isn't worth 2 million, yet alone 16 million. He can't field anymore, he hardly hits the homer, and last year he got 99 hits, 99! Roger Clemens is another over-rated guy. He's past his prime and can't be relied to win more than 13-14 games a year. In his prime he was terrific, now he's not capable of being an ace. One of my fave players is also really over-rated, David Ortiz. He slams the ball, when he's at-bat the pitcher should be scared. But, Papi gets a decent amount of hits, puts up a decent average, but he's really slow, doesn't have a high average, and can't field. DiceK is over-rated, we've only seen him pitch in Japan, he hasn't had to face Albert Pujols or Ryan Howard, once he does well over here, then he can get all te hype, but he hasn't even been to spring training!

Under-rated: Travis Hafner, he hit 42 homers last year, had 117 RBI's, posted a .308 AVG, and he plays for Cleveland, only Grady Sizemore is a good hitter on that team (besides Travis). His career averages are: 37 homers, 118 RBI's and a .297 AVG. He hasn't played for one All-Star team. Lance Berkman also comes to mind, last year he had 45 homers, 136 RBI's, and a .315 AVG. He's been really good since 2001, and hardly anyone not in Texas knows who he is, his career averages are: 34 homers, .304 average, 115 RBI's, and 39 doubles. Garret Atkins and Matt Holliday. Last year were the two Rockies first incredible seasons but they were great. Atkins hit .329, with 198 hits, and 29 homers and 120 RBI's! Holliday had 196 hits, 34 homers, 114 RBI's, and a .326 AVG.

Over rated by some distance doubtless is Fukudome. If no longer for the eastern and all the balloting that they had executed, this guy easily does no longer, and may no longer have began in All celeb interest. His numbers at perfect are mediocre. below rated, this season besides, i'd say Carlos Lee. If no longer for the unhappy Astros, he might want to be known extra so for what he's doing and has been doing. Berkman generally receives many of the understand, and perchance rightfully so, yet Lee has been a serious element to the crew. no longer his fault his crew cant pitch.

Most overrated: Alex Rodriguez. He is the poster boy for underachievement, MVP award and all. (Remember Darryl Strawberry?) Barry Bonds gets a dishonorable mention, as in fact he can be dealt with once you get past the fear his reputation seems to generate. The Mariners' closer, J.J. Putz, ignored the hype and made Bonds look silly two games in a row, once with the bases loaded!

Most underrated: There have been many good names listed, including Justin Morneau, who wasn't an obvious MVP winner though he deserved it (so did Jeter). My choice, however, is Raul Ibanez. No, he's not in the first rank, and you probably won't see him on the All-Star team, but he is consistent and helps win ball games. The Mariners may collapse for lack of starting pitching, but Ibanez will help keep it close.

Overrated: Derek Jeter, the fact that he placed in the top 5 for MVP shows that he is overrated (he didn't deserve gold glove either, even the espn news crew said that Alex Gonzalez was a much better fielder).

Underrated: Lance Berkman, nobody seems to know how good he is, here's his stats HR: 45 (5th in majors) RBI: 136 (4th in majors despite having less baserunners than many other players). OBP with runners in scoring position .527 which is a level I've really never even heard of before. He was also amazing with two outs.

Over rated - Sometimes it isn't all about stats and more about how you perform when your team needs you - so - Alex Rodriguez (and YES, I am a Yankees fan and can honestly say I watched him not come through too much last season)

Under rated - Wang - he is an AWESOME pitcher and great at fielding when he is needed (he doesn't dodge the ball when it is hit back at him - he will actually go for it).

Over rated: A-Rod and Bonds
Under rated: Oswalt deserves a lot more credit and attention and Juan Pierre has such a great work ethic and give 120% each day!

Without doubt, one of the most overrated players is J.D. Drew, the $70 million posterboy for stingy ballplayers. What goes around, comes around. Check out the recent posts on him below.

I'll take Pat Burrell as my underrated player. He's due for a breakout, career year. If that happens, the Mets will be on the outside looking in.
