My main entrace is into an enclosed porch and then the kitchen. We collect gum, cigarettes, money, papers, mail, pens, coupons, frequently used craft stuff for 3 yr old, and books at the end of the kitchen counter. I don't have a pantry or any floor space for furniture in the kitchen or the hallway beyond it.

Where do you keep this stuff? It overflows the baskets I put there. Do I just need bigger ones?

I'm in agreeance with the use of wall space. For your situation, I would try purchasing a plastic shoe storage bag that normally would hang on the back of a closet. You can hang this on the wall itself or, if you have a closet or a nearby door, that would probably be preferable just to get everything put away but out of eyesight. Anyway, once you hang the shoe organizer, use the pockets to store all of your items. You'll want to get one with clear pockets so you can see what is in each of them.

If you have more room in your enclosed porch area than you do in the house, you can also consider getting a piece of furniture that has open shelves, and storing your baskets on that. For privacy/looks, you can add a curtain with a small rod or pretty fabric to the front of it, so no one entering your home will see your collection. This does not have to be expensive; we bought a piece of furniture with shelves for our enclosed front porch area from Menard's (our local "Home Depot" type store) for $19. Good luck to you!

If you are running over your areas always go through what you have and see if you really need it.
If you can't get rid of anything try shelving in your porch, you should always try to go up in small spaces. Another thing for your 3yr old. try some multi use furniture. like a craft table that can be on the porch or something, but can also be storage. You can use this else where in your house as well. I also agree with the shoe storage ideas. Most of them come with holes for putting the hooks through, just put screws there to hang them on the wall. You can use this idea in many rooms in your house. I hope this helps you. Good luck

What about wall space? You can find some wall filling systems at a local office supply store that might work.
