"bring the fight to them, before they bring it here" is one of their major philosophies of this war, is it not?

Yes Richard D, I do, but given how none of the rhetoric out of the white house makes any sense, I want to see what other neo-cons make of it, or if anyone else has any idea at how Bush's rationale can be disected into a logical thought process.

It doesn't. If anything, it increases our chances of an occurance. We're unjustly destroying a country after our main goals were proven to be based upon lies... not like it's the first time the US has stuck their nose where it didn't belong...

Who could believe it? Al-Qaeda continues to attack outside of Iraq (Tunisia, Bali, Morocco, UK, etc. See attached time line for others) while we are fighting in Iraq so it obviously doesn't keep them too busy to attack elsewhere.

Maybe some people believe Al-Qaeda is afraid to attack the U.S. while we are deployed in Iraq. That doesn't make sense if you believe the Bush Administration when they say they have foiled some attempts to attack us since 2001.

So, I'd say that assertion is patently wrong. Why would anyone believe it? I don't know. I've never met anyone that did. Ask Bush and Cheney. They say it over and over but never explain it.

It seems to be working, no?

After all, we saw that when Clinton did nothing after the 1st WTC bombing, the Khobar Towers bombing, the bombings of the US embassies in Africa and the USS Cole bombing, (not to mention his cowardly retreat from Somalia), that got us 9/11.

Considering Saddam was believed by EVERYONE to have had WMD, and that he supported terrorists financially and had training camps for them, and considering he had a relationship with Al Qaeda for many years, and finally, considering the fact that the War on Terror was NOT just about 9/11, but about all state sponsors of terror, it is quite natural that Saddam had to go. This should have been done sometime between 1993 and 2001, but then there was a coward in the White House.

So, the real philosophy is that taking away safe havens for terrorists overseas, they cannot build up the kind of support networks necessary to conduct significant attacks.

THAT was and is the philosophy. And it works.

It's just another moronic saying from a moronic group of people. Scare tactics, and if that doesn't scare you we'll give you a color coded chart to tell you how scared you should be. Idiocy at its' highest level. This administration's policies are creating more terrorists, not stopping them.

The war in Iraq has managed to give us some great intelligence on Al-Qaida. We have destroyed some of their supply lines that travel through Iraq. We have disrupted some of their funding. And If you'll check it out, you'll see we took out the top Al-Qaida leader in Somalia, the top Al-Qaida leader in Philippines and a Taliban commander in Afghanistan within the last week. These are key people in terrorism that are out of business do to the efforts of our military around the world.

It doesn't.

Iraq is the biggest recruiting tool that the terrorists have.
More terrorists = less security
