people who "die in their sleep" wake up in the middle of the night, and then die?

Good question - I hope not. But maybe they get murdered in their dreams.

If they died in their sleep then they wouldn't wake up to do it. I guess if they had a massive heartattack they would have initial pain, and wake up, but some people I believe just drift off for whatever reason (there time to go) stop breathing, and die. Really you don't hear that much about oh they died in their sleep unless they are pretty old or have been ill; or at least I haven't.

Some do. Others don't. I think it depends on what exactly they are dying from.

i hadn't considered that...but it does make "dying in your sleep" sound far less pleasant.
