Ever since I’ve been on Yahoo! Answers I’ve been really bothered by the idiots on here throwing abuse at me for no reason, it’s just every time this happens I get all confrontational and wound up, I feel like my head is about too explode. The things is I’m fine the rest of the time on here, it’s just bullies on here that really get me wound up, why?

Don't take it personally, they don't know you personally, so how can it be personal? JUst relax, and remember, everyone has a right to their viewpoint, even if it drives you up the wall!

Hello,

(ANS) Ohh!! Gordon Bennett I must be becoming an old fart or an old grumpy bloke!! TEE HEE. Anyway I digress, I have been pretty amazed myself by the sheer number of well how can I put this politely?? reactionary, bigoits, who come out with the most breath takingly aweful statements I've ever seen. I guess as an old fart & old grumpy I realise some of these people dont have very well thought out ideas due to being purile & frankly immature, etc, etc.

**My advise is try NOT to let such reactionary non sense upset you, its exactly the kind of response such people want of course. Frankly, the less you let it bother you the more it will feel like water off a ducks back. In my opinion, oh! and it is just my opinion!! :-)

**The world is full of shock jocks & reactionary bullies, & wind up artists. Thats why I would'nt waste my time on them, they dont deserve my time frankly.

I get wound up by all the stupidity/hate on the Internet.
Many people exploit the anonymity that the Internet affords them in negative ways. I've heard it said that it helps some people blow off steam.
Maybe you should try and find a way to remind yourself that it's not personal, the Internet is a culture unto itself, and your participation is entirely voluntary.
I'm trying to help; so I hope this doesn't come across as flip platitudes.

For a lot of people, this is just something "fun" to do. You know, a form of entertainment. If you can't handle the jokes, why don't you just simplify your life and stop participating? And yes, there are some mean people out there, but that's life. Find some "real life" friends (which you probably already have), and rely on them for advice and feedback. Don't stress yourself. Remember, life is about choices. Try to make healthy ones.

Taking things personally stems back to a childhood trauma's somewhere in your life something made you feel like a dummy and this is why when things are said to you, as you state why do i take things so personally.
What you must do is seek out this part of your life then you can work on it so that you will not get these feelings.
Just keep saying to yourself im better than them, shout it if you must, fight it

I have been through a lot of ridicule, but don't get hurt by stuff I read behind my screen name; that's different. I feel a lot safer typing from my living room than I do idealing with a personi nterfaced.

it's the feeling of helplessness. F**K em, if there self esteem is so low they have to others unhappy then let them be. When u get p*ssed, try to imagine meeting the person who wrote it and the odds are you'll probably feel sorry em. Don't worry, b happy

Ease up there, I have met these sort too, try not to get angry with them, they tend to be those of a loer IQ, they can't reason but can hurl abuse.

It's a power thing. They probably have sad little real lives and try to make themselves feel good by being abusive to others.
Just ignore them..
