Actually, it is rarely good to tell someone you like them. After you tell them, every time they show their face in your presence, they could considered this doing a favor to you. You are no longer equals. They have the higher ground and now have an invitation to walk all over you. It is better to manipulate them into having them tell you.

it is never wrong to tell someone you like them, it is wrong to try to take someone else's loved one. I like lots of people and most of them know it. It is not a problem, liking is different from lusting.
