Locks for love takes hair that people donate, and turns it into wigs for kids and adult who may have lost their hair due to cancer or other diseases. The hair gives those kids who may not be able to grow their own hair back a chance to feel normal, and is a true help to them.

WHY???? They help a lot of people, mostly kids, get back some of the happiness that cancer has stolen from them. To have a child be able to face the world with a sense of pride, and knowing that they aren't being shunned because they are sick is a fantastic gift. More people should be a little less self absorbed, and give a little to a child who's life has been made so difficult. I know that the kids who get help from Locks For Love are very appreciative to those who help them. I just hope that one day, Locks For Love is no longer needed. But as long as drug companies are making money with 'treatment', there won't be a cure.

Because little children need help....I always donate about every 3 years.
If my daughter became ill and had to undergo all the medical procedues that these little kids go through I would want someone to help my daughter feel and look "normal". I can't imagine at 7 years old having to deal with cancer and do treatments where I'd lose my hair....that also is much more tolling for a little kid to go through as opposed to an adult.

Locks of Love is a great program. It is a non profit that donates prostetic hair pieces to kids under 18 that have illnesses that cause hair loss.
I grow my hair out, so that every two years, then I get it cut and donate my hair at a salon that participates in this program.

Locks of Love gives your hair to cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. If you dont give to them, your hair would just be throw away. Why would you throw away hair that could be used to make wigs for people in need?

Because cutting your long hair to help out a cancer patient is always good. They take the hair and make a wig out of it. It can help the cancer patient's confidence
