my audience is a school including grades 7+8 ... give me your ideas!!!???

Your best bet is to do something you have a strong interest in, or if not, do something controversial. It really depends on the context you are doing it in.

I used to do a lot of them for my Public Speaking class, and the easiest and most effective ones where the ones people felt passionately about.

What do you know that would interest a student in grade seven or eight? Maybe your experiences in middle school/going into high school since many students are scared of transition. Maybe about a fun trip you took or movie you saw since they can relate. Possibly even ways to be safe in and around school or home.

The age group is difficult because their world is so small; they are usually concerned only about themselves, their families and their group of friends. They do not work, so talking about fun jobs may not be a hit. The same regarding saving money or being better organized.

Pick a topic that interests you. Pick something that you already have knowledge on, but would like to learn more about.
