The other day there was this american guy in the pub, chubby, glasses, looked like a nerd, so he started yapping off about america's political success, and he was soo boring, no-one cared about what he was saying, than some guy told him "shutup mate your boring" and he finally stopped talking crap. I've met several americans who seem to be similar. I mean its not pride, it's just arrogance, people naturally wont like people like this.

LMAO.. You're a brave bloke asking this son! I've discovered that America is definately a land of extremes... you get the extreme right, the extreme left, some extremeley nice caring folk and some absolute wankers. I think every american thinks as many have mentioned.. that it is in fact the best country in the world but it's a minority who know anything of outside their borders. There's a lot wrong with the USA but there's some people tryin to do some good. Australians know we have it good down here so we don't talk as loudly (except about cricket. lol) This is the worlds best kept secret... paradise with land money and beer!

Quality of the culture, I'm afraid. Some rebel against it naturally, others fall right into the trap.

There are many loud-mouthed idiots in America. There's a look-at-me sort of marketing quality that is a little too popular here that is of course lowbrow all the way.

There are also some intelligent and well-mannered people who are grounded.

Don't write us all off because of some drunken slob of a bloke.

HEY, DON'T STEREOTYPE! If I was in your country, I would be talking about my country, and I'm sure you would be doing the same if you were in mine. You see, Americans are people, just like you, and you need to respect that! I know a lot of nice Americans willing to help me with my problems. I, a proud American Citizen, am looking into environmental research when I grow up (I'm fourteen) so don't you get angry about these few people and start stereotyping about all of America's problems. We provide you with some food, entertainment, and even this YAHOO! Answers site and MANY other conveniences. We invented lots of stuff to help the world progress the way it is now. This country is proud and full of citizens that care about the world (why doesn't anybody in any other country notice this?) and you should be thankful that we're here today.

Why do you like to stereotype Americans? The ones you have run into are very proud I guess. I don't think EVERY American person is like that. Look at the guys that blew up the federal in Oklahoma , they were Americans and they hated America.
But why we you SO offended ? Maybe it's cause you're proud of your own nation.

Well some people are like that. People who live in other countries in Europe think America is a pig pen and it's citizens are the pigs who roll around in the dirty mud.
Every country has it's down times America has them of coarse. People also have Down times they get drunk and high but America has to beat all the stereotypes.

-Good luck ♥

Freedom of speech!

Also, people who frequent pubs ... alone ... will often engage any and everybody in conversation. Talking is a means of interaction. It is common among human beings according to research compiled by sociologists. The fact that his topic was of little or no interest to those in his company is mute. We, americans, are often quite talkative and somewhat animated during our conversations -- less stolic. I hope that he did the polite thing and remained quiet after having something negative said to him about it. Civility can also be measured in tolerance of others...sometimes.

I'm sorry you guys have to deal with American's act like that. Not all of us are loud and annoying, I would say most. It's pretty shameful. See this is why I don't say I'm from the US

its just plain arrogance and ignorance to make you feel inferior. but dont let it bother you because we are taking over their country, yep us minorities are multiplying and getting our hands on the best jobs and soon political possition, and we got affirmative action to do so. so dont let it bring you down, just take advantage of the opportunities this country has and get to the top, then we can see who will be the one with the loud mouth

You know, I kind of find that to be true in most cases (I don't know why) but not always are Americans loud. But those who are, you cannot talk private with them because they talk so loud, everyone else around them will hear it.

Why do youthink they interfere with worldpolitics allthe time and drag everyone else into it.?? George Bush- enough said there...
