well capezios are ok i guess, they are incredibly soft and die really quickly. they arent the cheapest shoes. i absolutly LOVE my grishkos, love them, love them, love them!!!!!!!!!! freeds are more for people who have been dancing for a while and have narrow feet. chaccot are comfortable, but the shank is really soft. bloch shoes buckle over in the arch and they are pretty similar to capezios. sansha is a nice stage shoe because it is really quiet. gaynor mindins last a really long time but they are partly made of plastic and are expensive.

hope i helped you
good luck!! : )

Pointe shoe choice is very specific to your foot you should never attempt to buy a first pair of shoes without being fitted by a professional and then having your teacher double check. A bad fitting shoe can put you at a lot of risks. Go to a store that specializes in dance wear in your area, like a Capezio store for example and they will fit you for the best shoe. Personally I can only wear one or maybe two brands of shoes because the front of my foot is very wide and it is hard to find shoes with a wide box. From there they will be able to offer you options in shank and whatnot for a beginner they will probably put you in a medium shank and you can make personal adjustments as your career progresses.

I'm an ex gymnast too, and feature been doing ballet for 6 months. I'm getting ready for pointe after christmas and happening pointe in the summertime. I do not know why they are doing it this early - possibly it's due to the fact that I do have very robust ft and ankles, or might be due to the fact that I have a usual turnout capacity. ...Previous solutions are proper - flexibility isnt main for pointe, however is priceless for ballet as a rule. Just due to the fact that you have got performed ballet for a even as does NOT imply you are well at it! Anyone can do it for a even as, but when you are an ex gymnast it is most likely you are well at it. Just do heel increases and paintings on turnout to velocity matters up a little. Hope it is helping :) x
