Ok, Sid Mier's Pirates! was just released and that is supposed to be pretty good. I am a big RPG fan, so I am waiting for The Elder Scrolls Travels in April. Metal Slug Anthology is a really fun game, I would recommend getting it.

Depends on exactly what type of adventure game you're into, but one of last years favourites was "Daxter" born of the Jak and Daxter series on the PS2.
There's also Valkyrie Profile, which in my book is a superb remake of the PS1 version.
