Ask them what their favorite school subject is. Ask them if they get to see movies very often, and what is their favorite.

Hi well I use to be a Foster parent and took in over 48 children. I guess what you need to do before you ask the children any questions, is to put yourself in there shoes. Just think if you were the one in an Orpharage? what sorta questions do you think they would ask you? Then you would have your questions to ask them. Or what you could do is practrice on someone in the family. Tell them to pretend to be an orphan, and you are there to visit them. What do you think they would be thinking when you come there to see them? Or you be the orphan and have them ask you the questions so you get an idea as to what you might want to ask them.
You see being that I was a Foster Parent I had lots of children, I would ask them all sorta things about them, Some would tell me whats on there mind and others were sad to be away from there real parents. What you need to do is make them feel comfortable and they will then talk to you as if you were there new best friend. Just always know this..... How lucky you are to have a mom and dad that loves you or you might have never been born, or could have ended up where your going to that orphanage. They are lucky too in some ways, they have a full staff that take care of them and see that they get a nice family that can't have children. So that they will be happy again someday. Good luck to you and hope that I was of help. Deborah

I am a mother of several adopted children, so hope I can help. I think that it is best that you don't ask what they want in a family for it is sad that many children will stay in the system and not get adopted, therefore ask things like:

What would you like to do when you grow up.

Who is your favorite movie star.

What is your favorite show on tv.

What sport do you like best.

What is your favorite food, or candy, or drink.

Get the idea, keep your questions light, easy to answer, most likely these children will be a little nervous anyway. Keep a smile on your face, wish them the best in life after they answer, tell them something like, I hope all your dreams and wishes come true for you, and I will be praying for you. Hope this helped.

I lived in an orphanage and I would say maybe. how do you feel about living around so many people. or having such a big family? I was very happy there. And the husband and wife worked overtime to care and support all of the kids.If I had a project comming up at school my gosh they would go out of their way to make sure I had space and all the materials.

What's it like living in the orphenage?
Do you get along with the other children living here?
How old were you when you came to the orphenage?

Remember to be tactful! I would advise against just walking in and saying "so what did your mum and dad die from?" because I'm sure some of them are still sensetive.

Have fun tomorrow.

You can ask them if they watch TV and if they do, ask them what their favorite program is and tell them what your favorite program is.
The same goes for asking what their favorite food is and tell them what your favorite food is.
Tell them what books you like to read and ask them what books they enjoy reading.
If they are very young children ask them what games they like to play and again, tell them about your favorite game. Soon, you will be talking to each other.

Have a nice day!

Everybody was a kid once, and I am sure you had hobbies and faves when you were younger.
I think you should just ask them about school, their future, stuff that kids would like to talk about. If you are talking to girls to about boys and if you are talking to boys talk about girls.

-Good Luck I am sure the kids will love you!

question 1 "is it hard to have sex with the lack of privacy around here?
question 2 " how much time do you get in the bathroom in the morning?"

I would ask them about their interests. People like it when people are interested in what they care about. Second, ask them what they look forward to in life.
