Try two body pillows on each side and a big pillow to prop yourself up. Put a pillow between your legs to make your hips widen, that will help a lot! Take a warm shower before bed, this will help with the acheys, your body is preparing for birth so all the joints are getting loose which takes a toll on the body. Stuffy noses are common during pregnancy because everything swells up, so propping your head up will help, maybe sleep with a humidifier nearby so your nose doesn't dry up. Good luck!

I'm 17 weeks and have the same problem. If I stay in one position too long I'm really achey. I wake up every hour or so and I'm really stiff. Sleeping on your left side during pregnancy is best, try putting one leg over the other with a pillow in between. There are pregnancy pillows you can buy, shaped like a horseshoe to support your back and put a leg over while you sleep. For the stuffy nose, try saline spray or a humidifier. A stuffy nose is common in pregnancy, and can get worse in the winter when you've got the dry air of the heater. Good luck!

I was having the same problem. My husband went out and got an air mattress, filled it with air and put it on top of our mattresses. I sleep like a baby for a few days. Then it got a hole in it :( so, I got tired of that and put it up. Now I sleep sort of sitting up. I still wake up all hours or the night reposition my self and go back to sleep. Their are nights when I can't sleep at all though. So, try sleeping on the couch, or a comfy recliner. Anything possible to get some sleep. I can't say it will get better though.

I have had the same problems off and on my entire pregnancy, i am now 30 weeks. I am tired 24/7 due to not getting proper sleep when i am able to finally doze off....I asked my Ob and they said Tylenol PM but i dont really feel comfortable taking it. It might be something you want to discuss at your next check up though. They may tell you tylenol PM is ok, or they might suggest other things. What i try to do is read (it bores me to sleep sometimes) or a hot bath and soak right before bed. This seems to help a little. Good luck!!

I have the same problem and the only thing that helps is sleeping sitting up. Not real comfortable but at least that way I get 3 hours of good sleep before having to move. Also.. I take a nice, relaxing bath before I go to bed. Helps a little. Good luck

i feel for you sweetie, and unfortunately, its only going to get worse the bigger you get...

as long as you are not on bed rest, try taking a walk for 20 to 40 minutes (or as long as you can stand to walk) every day. getting some exercise every day really helped me while i was pregnant. you don't have to jog - make sure that you are able to breathe easily, slow down or stop for a while if you are getting short of breath. also, breathing exercises (like yoga breathing) will help relax you at bed time, making you more restful at night. i pretty much got by on 4-5 hours/night of sleep, and not all in a row. i think its your body's way of getting you ready for the REAL sleep deprivation after your bundle of joy arrives.

good luck and mazeltov!

I haven't slept well since I conceived. I'll sleep for a few hours, and then I'm up for a couple of hours before I can sleep for one more hour.

It's awful. My sister had the plugged up nose, but hers was treated by her sitting up.

Mine was so bad, though, that I wasn't sleeping at all. My doctor said that I could use Afrin, but not to exceed the dosage that's on the bottle, and NOT to use it in the third trimester.

Talk to your doctor, first and foremost.

I have one of those "memory foam" mattresses that are squishy and conform to your body with your body heat. Very nice for pregnancy sleeping, (they're moderately priced at Costco or BJs). You can also buy a two-inch "mattress topper" of the same material from a place like Walmart. Helps a lot for side sleeping.

Try saline nose spray (just salt water) and a humidifer... but only use a humidifer if you have carpeted bedroom- if not it makes the floor slippery, which is dangerous. As for you aches and pain... maybe you try taking a tylonol sometimes... (NOT MOTRIN!!! no ibprophen) good luck

Dont get into bed unless it is for sleep. Meditate before you go to bed, and make sure no lights are on in the room when you are ready to go to sleep. If you keep your eyes open in the dark your eyes send messages to your brain telling it to start shutting down. You will start to get tired. As for sleeping "longer" I dont know.
