They all make it out like the dog was a reincarneted Hitler, and the child was a sweet innocent little thing. But in truth, 95% of the time, the kid was a pissing the dog off and finally he snapped. A dog has the brainpower of a 3 year old, yet they act more mature and decent than a lot of adults.
No dog should be murdered because Ignorant lazy parents can't look after their brat and eccept full responsability for not watch and teaching your kid to to respect the family Dogs/Animals so they blame the innocent dog who can't speak......the dog was only defending its self from....Who is the Big Bully in denial??
in cases like below, parents will allow the following to happen >
>Savage child jumping / riding on its back
>Poking pulling sensitive ears & tail
>hitting abusing poor dog
>picking up its puppies and mishandling them
I think the humans in that type of situation should be euthanized not the poor dog ....Animals watch their babies better than Parents who's child is attacked.

No, it is not always a dog's fault when they get attacked.
It is not a dog's fault in any of those cases.
I hope that I helped!

Yup, I agree with you completely - most of the time the dogs have behaved instinctively.

My own Dog is a harmless coward. She bit a kid. I was washing my car, my dog lying on the lawn close by, when suddenly this kid around 8 or 9 years old comes tearing down the sidewalk, and he decided to take a short-cut to the path by crossing my lawn and running almost right into my dog (a 40lb mutt), who then leapt forward and grabbed the kids arm. It didn't break skin but it did leave a good mark. The child turned around and returned to his home, almost across the street, and the parents called the cops. The Cops, once hearing the explanation and meeting the dog (who was, as usual, hiding behind my leg when this uniformed stranger approached), laughed it off - I got lucky, the cop was probably a dog owner.

Anyway, that's my story and if falls into the realm of what you are talking about, I think. So a scenario to add to your list - kids running recklessly up to strange dogs.

And the truth is, even when a dog is unpredictable and attacks for no reason, almost all of the time you'll find the dog in question has been abused at home. Unfortunately, even though this is also not the dogs fault, it does warrant euthanizing the mistreated, but already ruined, animal.

The responsability is in the owner of the dog too train the animal properly. It also is about the parent of the child...parents should teach their kids how to behave around animals and teach them that they can be unpredictable and to treat them with respect. They should never leave the child alone with any animal. The probl;em is people have no respect for animals and they need to teach their kids about respect.

While sometimes you are right kids provoke dogs, any dog should be able to handle a kid pulling it's ear or tail without attacking! If not he was not properly socialized in the first place, which would be the owners fault! There have been numerous cases of dogs attacking without being provoked! What do you have to say about them??? Any dog that attacks without cause should be put down! Even if a kid pulled my dogs ear and he attacked, and harmed the child, I would have him put down myself! I couldn't live with myself knowing my dog hurt a child! If you own an animal, then you are responsible for it's actions, period!!

canines do not attack abruptly there are consistently signs and symptoms, and canines are conditioned, they are predictable in case you have the understanding to be waiting to foretell a canines behaviour. The canines that are aggressive are owned by using the two ignorant or irresponsible human beings. A properly experienced properly socialised canines won't attack. in case you have information and experience you be attentive to in spite of if a canines is risk-free or not. some canines must be one hundred% risk-free, which includes those experienced to assist human beings having siezures think of if certainly one of those canines grew to become of direction they in no way do because of the fact canines behaviour can and is predicted by using people who've the understanding to achieve this. I accept as true with you it fairly is the fault of breeders and or proprietors who fail to take sufficient responsibilty. Dr Roger Mugford has written some very exciting articles in this undertaking which will interest you.

well, the dog should be better trained, but i definitaly agree the dog should not be killed because of one incident. and the kid shouldn't annoy the dog, but i guess they don't know any better. and the parent never wants to blame their kid, so they blame the dog. the police and other people would look like fools to take the dogs side and ingnore the parents, so they put the dog to sleep before getting sued or getting in trouble by the parents of the kid. but the dog shouldn't be put to sleep. just put in traing school or something like that.

No, because the owner of the dog was treating the pet wrong! It may have been 10 percent of the dog's fault, but not anymore! And, the reason why the dog may have attacked another person is because it may have had sorrow in it's early life when separated by family. It happens lots of times, but a newspaper on the dog tapped lightly, is okay, IF the dog did do something mean or bad. If you light cigarette ashes on the dog or burn its foot, that is totally dog abuse!

We have 3 dogs and 4 children. Our American Pit Bull Terrier is a loving dog, just as much as our shih tzu and sharpei. Parents need to teach their children how to care for animals. They need to teach them to respect them. These days there is shortage of people teaching their kids anything but the gimmies. Pets are NOT toys.

Aggressive dogs usually are provoked. OR they themselves are victims of people who breed and train for aggression OR they have been abused.

Just like children dogs need guidance and training. Everyone is happy when children and pets are educated! We also need to hold the owners who teach their dogs aggression, abuse them responsible.

Sounds like you like dogs.Thats cool, but there is still a big problem with bad dog's.Especialy in some breeds i agree some people don't know how to raise a dog unless for pitfighting. But putting down a dog because it is defending itself is nonsense.People around dogs who have children should be more responsible.100% responsible. So i side with you to a point. PEACE VICTORIO

In a way you are right, but not the child, don't blame the child.... its the stupid idiot parents and the dog owners who let the dog and the children play together. some dogs are dangerous and some children can be abusive to animals but they are like that because their parents either allow it or worse think it is funny.

The dog owner is absolutely responsible!! Every time, without exception!! Since you already know that dogs have the intelligence of a three-year-old, why are you not accepting your responsibility for protecting your dog from rotten kids?? Quit blaming others for your shortsightedness and laziness. If your dog mauled a little kid, YOU should be euthanized, if anybody.
