The liquid part of the blood, the plasma, has a lot of protein in it. Protein in your urine is a sign that you are starving...you have literally used up all your supply of glycogen in you liver and your body is begining to break down muscle tissue for energy. This is not good...your heart is a muscle and you don't want to use that up. Also, protein stresses your kidneys. Protein is a big molecule and your kidneys have to work hard to expell it.
I hope this helps!

Large plasma proteins do not enter the kidneys therefore the only way to find them in urine is when the kidney is damaged.
Smaller soluble proteins that do enter are reabsorbed before urine is carried to the bladder.A healthy person should not have any glucose in his urine, but I am not sure about proteins or amino acids.Definitely the majority is reabsorbed but some may be allowed to escape.

The kidney has a filter in it. When it's working normally, large proteins will not be able to pass the filter. Small amount of small proteins that actually passed will be absorbed back into the blood by the kidney. However, if you have abnormal amount of protein filtered, the kidney will not be able to absorb them all back. Also, if the kidney itself is damaged, you can also see protein in the urine.

because urine has the waste product of protein not protein itself...in mammals it is urea and urine is water and urea mixed (urea is ammonia diluted with water....ammonia is the direct waste product of protein but it is too toxic to have in the body like that, so our bodies water it down into urea and urine). Protein is found in blood because it is the building blocks of tissue and cells...blood is made up of cells....see how it all fits:P!

the kidneys filter out the protein. Protein can sometimes be found in urine, termed proteinuria; however, this occurs during infection or other sickness.
