My daughters friend and her family has lost everything they have to a house fire. They have 3 children. We want to help them. Could someone who's been through this help us know what is some of the things that they need most right now! They are at their aunt's home and we are three hours away, so we don't know for sure how to help.

I think the normal everyday things would help them, toothbrushes, clothes, money. I would suggest trying to get the community invovled in doing some fundraisers. Also, since they lost everything maybe you could ask friends neighbors and family to send you photos of the family, you could complile them into a scrap book type of thing and present it as a gift. I would really really try for a fundraiser, go to local businesses and ask them to donate $$, time or contribute for the fundrarser, also, contact the childrens schools, parents place of work and other organizations they might be involved in, someone else might be doing things to help and you can join them. How sad for that family, life isn't about your pocessions and material things but losing your everything and your house is like losing part of yourself. im only 13 yrs old but yeah i been through something like that but it was cus they got avicted from their house, well what i did was sell my old clothes that didnt fit me and i would save some of my money that my parents would give me, yeah i reach about $150.00 and yeah there was alot of things that i wanted to do with that money but i kept thinking about what they were going through so i didnt spend it, i know $150 is not really alot but i did know that it could at least help them with some food clotheing and some other things...well i told u what u can do so i hope i help bye

Here in South Carolina, we go to the bank and set up a fund, then tell the local TV or newspaper the story.

what i would tell you to get for them is cloths that's the most important thing to them and ask what else that you can do for them
