I don't think image is everything. Not by a long shot. I think people should be able to dress in nearly whatever (like no nudity) they want in most situations, but sometimes it's better to have a modiculum of respect in certain situations (like funerals) but that is far from meaning total conformity.
I think personality is the most important thing, but then I cannot speak for everyone in the world.

You couldn't care less, not you could care less. Saying that you could care less means that it still has some importance to you.

Image isn't everything but it is something. Things don't have to be an all or nothing situation. The way you look, the manner in which you present yourself, reflects who you are to some extent. If you come off as not giving a crap about how you look, then that makes a statement and presents an image in and of itself.

Edit: I'm not correcting your grammar. By the rest of your question it becomes apparent that you couldn't care less, although by your further details it would seem that you care a good deal. I'm pointing out what 'you could care less' actually means, so when you want to verbally convey to people that you couldn't care less, then you don't look like an idiot as well as a freak.

If I was correcting your grammar, then I'd tell you something like it's 'usage' and not 'ussage', and to learn to capitalize.

Hell no, it's not! There's the image we percieve, and then there's the truth. Rarely does anyone ever see the truth about anyone from their first interpretation. I find that beauty is truly on the inside. But without proper edicate and hygiene, none of that even matters. There are far too many superficial people. They claim to be different, but take such a uniform approach on style. I've got a little bit of it all in my wardrobe. From freak to prep, I can fit in or stand out, whenever I want. Of course, I normally stand out!

Honey, don't say you don't care and then ask the question...if you truly don't care, be resolved in both heart and mind to do what you believe in.

Now, if you want me to answer the question, yes, unfortunately image is important unless you are independently wealthy and you are super-strong, strong enough to deal with the backlash of what your image portrays.

Sounds like your mind is already made up or you are trying to convince yourself, one or the other. Personally, I don't think image is as important as substance, but society today is incredibly focused on image. So, do what you want with yours, because, well, it's yours.

No, image isn't everything but you should care about how you carry yourself. A person's wardrobe doesn't define who they are. But as long as they carry themselves with class and dignity then that's all that matters.

No it isn't everything, however, it is a very large part of who you are. Remeber that when its time to interview for a big job. They can't deny you a job by your appearance but they can just tell you they hired someone more qualified.

No, image isn't everything ... I have my own sense of style, fashion etc. I do what I want and i don't care what others say or think.

Congratulations, most people never figure this one out. People who judge everyone on looks and clothes are shallow and not worth wasting your time on.
