I think it's because the style of music. A lot of people can't get into that type of style, to where it's like twangy. It's just a difference of opinions. Just like some people can't get into Hip Hop. I can handle some Pop country & OLD school country, but I can't handle too much of the real twangy stuff. I think sometimes country is a bit sad too. It's always singing about how they lost their lover & someone shot their dog, but I guess it's better than hearing about bling bling, cars, money, ho's, triks, parties.

Personally, I love country music! I always have.
I think that for some people, they think that if they "claim" to hate it, that in some way that makes them fit in with all the others who say the same thing.. like they don't want to be "different" or something.
I don't get how anyone can say they hate a complete genre of music. I mean, it's not like everyone has ever heard every single song put out by every artist.. And who knows, maybe there's one out there, that you'd love.. You never know!
It's one thing to say that you don't like it much.. but to say you hate something (espcially something as petty as a genre of music).. well, that seems like such a waste of energy to me.

Because they never actually listen to the songs. I used to hate country music, now I love it. If you listen to it with out judging it, you might like it. There are some pretty funny songs, download "Billy's got his beer goggles on" give it a chance, it's actually very good!

Because they judge by stereotype, they think all of it is really, "twangy, southern, red-neck" music, so they never give themselves the chance to actually accept the fact that there is a lot of really good country music out there.

I recognize its importance. There would be no Bob Dylan without country. There wouldn't be any folk without country.
Rock and roll wouldn't exist without country. Alike the blues, and yes, pop, country is one of the cataylists that helped create music as we know it today.

It's because it all sounds the same. A lot of people don't like the southern accent, and there are often people who've had bad experiences with cowboys/cowgirls. I have a friend who's petrified of them. It's an acquired taste, like seafood, mushrooms, and blue cheese.
