Yep, the exact same thing! I went for the ultrasound and I (thought) was 9 weeks along. The didn't see a baby, only the sac. Everyone paniced, I cried, my husband was upset.....so! They said I could either be 4-5 weeks pregnant or molar pregnancy (baby doesn't form). They told me it could go either way! So they checked by HGC levels and then I went 48 hours later and had them retested. They went up just like they should and the HGC levels put me at 4-5 weeks pregnant, but my LMP put me at over 9 weeks now. Turns out I am just irregular with my periods! I was only 4-5 weeks, and I am 23 weeks along with a baby girl now! It's okay, it's too early to panic. Your LMP isn't very reliable anyways, so it's probably a mix up with your ovulation. I have seen our ultrasound and our baby was prefectly fine and healthy! Good Luck and relax!

I'm sorry to say this, but my mother had something like that before she was pregnant with me. She said the sonogram (keep in mind this was nearly 30 years ago) just looked like a blob, and she lost the baby soon after. However, I would listen to the doctor. If the doc says there is a 50/50 chance, then listen. Sonograms are much better today than they even were 10 years ago. So, maybe it is just an early pregnancy.

I had the same problem...I went for an ultrasoud at 9 weeks. They saw an empty sac. It is what is called blighted ovum and I am sorry to say will result in a miscarriage. Sperm and egg have met but stop developing. I was offered to wait for a miscarriage or have a d&c to clear it out. I opted for a d&c to have it cleared up. My second pregnancy I went for a u/s at 5 weeks and I could see a heartbeat.

I thought I was pregnant 'cause I didn't have a period and I had those symptoms you get when you're first pregnant. Had the test, wasn't pregnant. Then bang, I got pregnant because I was off the pill since I THOUGHT I was pregnant.

However, my doctor said lots of women conceive and lose the baby before they ever find out they're pregnant. Just that sometimes we find out we're pregnant or suspect we're pregnant before that happens.

Don't take it as a sign that you can never get pregnant. It doesn't mean that at all.

Talk with your doctor about any concerns.

BTW, I spotted in the first month with BOTH of my pregnancies (scared the kahoots out of me, too), and I carried both healthy babies to term.

are you sure that you are 9 weeks? i mean you could just be really really early-- i know that you may bleed slightly when the embryo attaches to the uterine wall-- have you had any severe cramping? i dont really know what else to tell you-- i am sorry that you have to go through this-- my baby had a really low heartbeat for like 2 weeks and i almost died because i worried so much, but you just have to leave it in God's hands and know that what is meant to be will be-- no matter how hard that may be. ill pray for you, and you should pray yourself, it makes you feel better. good luck and i wish the best for you
