I bet over 70% of the American public didn't even know who the chap was before he signed with the Galaxy. Personally, I could care less about him moving here. Hopefully, he'll do good for the youth but unfortunately the media will rip him apart and report on sensationalist rumors. By the time they are through with him, he'll look like some scandalous fool. He'll also have to deal with the vixens around here that will try to extort mu la from the guy.

I personally think that it was a great move for him, while, yes he was doing fine in Madrid, his game is on the decline. Now he gets to accept a huge signing bonus and be the center of attention (which by now it is obvious he loves) in the MLS. Also, his move has and will prompt other players to consider America as well, so the move is beneficial all around.

I think it was a waste of American money. He should have stayed where he was. LA Galaxy just wanted a huge name to bring in more paying fans because frankly any younger soccer player could have been drafted and been as good as injured nearly worn out Beckham. IMO

It's extremely exciting to know were going to have such a player in USA. I've heard some people saying he is coming just for the $. I don't think so, he already has plenty of it. Once you love Football Soccer you never go back. He loves the game and his intentions are good for our youth and our team. Believe me! He made the right choice, let's welcome him with open arms! and for what I know, he was not okay in real madrid (what's up with that R M coach) why are they allowed to treat players like that?

He was very unhappy with his playing time for Real. He has been talking about a move to LA for a couple of years now and just seemed to be ready.
