that question and answer was in cosmo magazine- something about a common nerve/muscle between the eye and mouth that reacts when you hold your eye open (with or without yuor hand) to apply the mascara.

hahaha 'eye mascara'! anyway, good question.. it's probably just a natural reflex, but i can apply mascara with my mouth closed if i really want to:)

When my mouth opens, my eyes tend to open wider, makes it easier. I dont question why.

It opens your eyes wider so that you don't get mascara all over your eyelids or face.

i soooo have tried to not open my mouth when i apply mascara... i even tried it the other day.... but, it's kinda hard... i have no idea... maybe it's easier to concentrate...

Um..probably bc when u open ur mouth u tighten ur skin which helps u to put it on w/out smearing it as much. :)
