Recently I was trying on several outfits in a department store changing room when I noticed that the children with the woman in the next booth were peering under the dividing wall between our two booths. I glanced down to see two boys, probably 7 or 8 years old, watching me as I slipped each outfit on and off. I wasn't sure of how to react, so I finished quickly and acted as if I hadn't noticed them.
This wasn't the first time that this has happened to me, and I know that kids will be kids, but these boys looked a little older than any of my previous experiences, and being stared at in just my panties and brassiere made me feel as if my privacy had been violated. I was tempted to complain to the store manager, but was afraid it may just make the situation more embarrassing than it already was.
Am I over-reacting, or am I right to be upset?

I have had this happen before as well. Usually the mom is not aware they are doing it, so I usually quite loudly say , so that the mom can hear "Oh dear, you have the wrong change room, I am not your mommy." or something to that effect. More often than not the mom will give them heck and put a stop to it. However if the mother is aware and not doing any thing, I have no problems, politely telling the mother that I am not comfortable with her kids peering under the curtain.
Of course it does depend on the age. Really young children don't know any better, so I will laugh it off, but I agree that 8 years old, the child shoud know better.

I think you can be upset but not enraged. I'd talk to the mother about her children in a matter-of-fact sense.
