I usually sit on the side of the tub,with my feet in the tub while I cut my toenails.This way I can wash the clippings down the drain.Also,it helps to soak your toes before you cut them.Makes it easier to clip them. Besides,I'm old and so are my toenails.LOL.

Yes, because otherwise you'll just end up stepping on it and getting it stuck in your foot a couple of days later, and it can really hurt.
