Vacuum well first then,

Use your steam cleaner with a few spoonfuls
of white vinegar added to water

Finally, rub with a cloth damped , with pure white vinegar
( i wrap the cloth around a broom , so no stooping !!!)

A couple weeks ago a door to door salesman was walking around- he was selling a product called Xtreme Clean. Usually I just tell them that im not interested but.....

He demonstrated. This stuff is absolutley great in steam cleaners. I have a light beige carpet and a 1 year old who spills her juice on it, a dog that will trap in mud, and a hubby who works with grease. When i used it my carpet looked like new!
This stuff is great for any stains- its kind of fun too going around the house and zapping stains- or cleaning mildew.

U can get it online at www.xccinc.com

I have put OXY Clean in my steam cleaner before and it has helped a bunch! I put boiling water in my steam cleaner instead of just hot water but it depends on what type of steam cleaner you are using.
