Take it slow. You can't just go out there and try a tuck! Or even a Cartwheel for that matter. You have to practice. Try stretching every day. Especially your back. Work on your cart wheels. Make sure that you legs are straight, toes are pointed, and your tumbling straight. Then maybe try a few round offs. That's where you start out like a cartwheel, snap your feet together at the top, and push through your shoulders to get you hands off of the ground. In cheerleading, tumbling isn't the most important things! Work on your jumps too. Build up your muscles for stunts. MOst imporatntly, motions. Make sure the are precise. No one likes sloppy motions. Oh yeah, and don't forget transitions. Run around WITH YOUR ARMS BY YOUR SIDE! And the VERY. VERY, VERY most important is to have fun. If you don't make it it's okay because that might not be your thing. Oh, don't try doing handsprings or tucks, fulls or tumble with out a spot first time!

You need to get to a gymnastics center to learn anything more complicated than a cartwheel or round-off. But for info on how to do a cartwheel, read this: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AsTkiTT5aSEtbkjApO_QAO0jzKIX?qid=20070116184359AAnMh52
