I'd say so. I went out with a kid who was 20 when I was 16 and it wasn't shady at all. I guess it depends on the nature of the relationship.

I guess it depends on the maturity of the 19 year old boy and the 15 year old girl. Right now the age difference seems really extreme but when your 20 and he is 24 it will not be that big of a deal. Just make sure the first few dates are with another couple so you can see what the intentions are. Some guys are not given enough credit.

First off, you need to clarify what exactly are good intentions. I'm guessing the you are the 15yr. girl in this question.

I'm sure you are looking for support for wanting to go out with the 19. At your age, that gap is a lot. He's graduated and you haven't. An outsider looking at this would say that the boy doesn't have good intentions. I'm also guessing that your parents are not thrilled with the idea either.

If you are really determined to get people's blessing, you'll have to work hard to gain support. You are going to have show that he really does have good intentions. Don't sneak around to see him, be open and honest. Have him meet your parents, and highlight the reasons why you think everything about your relationship is of the best intentions.

A 19 year old boy with good intentions stays away from 15, 16, or even 17 year olds girls.

That is a tough one... depends on the girl... depends on the boy... depends on the parents... lets say this... in a few years it won't make a difference...

25 and 21 is perfectly acceptable... the problem is that 19 IS an adult and well 16 isn't...

BUT that being said I dated a girl when I was 19 that was 15 and I thought she was 18 until she asked me to drive her to the BMV to get her temps... lol...

Her parents were fine with it and at the time I just wanted the company...

So the depends is... sexual... a sexualy active 19 year old dating a 15 year old... isn't a good thing...

if you keep your pants on for a couple years I would say it is ok...

I'll bet the 19 year old boy has real good intentions, * in his pants *.. not saying all guys are like that, but most around that age.. well hell.. from the age of 14 a guy is like that, and girls well there are some straight up hoochies, but it seems like a lot of girls go out with older guys, either because they think it makes them cooler, or they are really easy, anyway i would say it probably isn't a good idea, but in the end, it doesn't matter what advice is given to them, they will make the decision themselves..

Legally? In some states no. In some states yes.
Ethically, no. Too much age differences.
Mature levels aren't the same.
Thoughts about age differences change as you get older. For example, a 30 year old dating a 38 year old. No problem. It's the maturity level. And it is believed the a 15 year old is not mature yet. Heck, she can't even go to an R rated movie.
Good intentions or not, you're asking for some resistance from friends and family.
Your choice. You live and die with your decisions.

This question really walks a fine line. On one had, 4 years is no big deal as far as age difference. However, a person of age going out with someone who is not is playing with fire. If things end up being not so Rosy and the girl claims the guy had sex with her, he could go to jail and be labled as a sex offender, even if he had good intentions and hadn't done anything like that. I'd keep it friendly till she reaches the age of consent. Unless you are in an area where age of consent is less than 15, they should wait.

Personally I say not only No but HELL NO. A 15 year old doesn't have the maturity needed for a relationship with a 19 year old. However, as to the legality of it it depends on where you live. Here the legal age of consent is 17. However in Arkansas the legal age of consent is 14 and she could have sex with a 35 year old and the cops would do nothing so long as she said she consented.

Free pass for tonight. One night only! And by the way I'm sure the 19 year old boy has anything BUT good intentions. His intentions are to get your pants off.

It depends on how you look at it. From a legal standpoint, depending on the state that they reside in, it may be illegal and if anything were to happen sexually then he could be charged with stagetory rape even if she gave her consent. As far as looking at it from a different point, I personally as a mother wouldn't agree with it. Those few years apart can make a big difference when it comes to expectations. A 15 year old girl can be very impressionable and may, even starting out with the best intentions, make the worst mistakes. From all standpoints I would say no.
