Honestly, I think the more emphases that is placed on black this or white that or Latino whatchamacallit just furthers to HELP racism. Not do away with it.

In other words, why do all the separate races preach that we should be as one yet they single themselves out with Black History Month? Or the African American Chamber of Commerce?

You can't have it both ways...or actually you can because its happening all around me. No longer does it matter what a person is on the inside, or what work force skills they have.,.its what color his/hers skin is that gets you into college or gets you the good paying job. Its bull..it really is.

Whatever though..bottom line, somebody was pushy enough to designate a BHM, but joke was on them when the shortest month of the year was chosen...lol.....

Okay i think black history month is great cause black people in the past and black people now still have it bad okay and about the white history month i don't see no point in that every other month is your month so stop being selfish and let us black people have a month .

I think black history month is great. The only regret I have is the fact that we celebrate black history on this month only and not throughout the year. A lot of whites tend to complain about not having their own month. But the main purpose for having our own month was to study and celebrate black accomplishments. You study everything about whites throughout the year, but the only time you hear about blacks is in February.

I respect Black History Month, but I think it sends the wrong message. Shouldn't everyone celebrate black history the whole year, rather than jamming those celebrations into one month?

All the white people who say that "why cant we have a white history month" or that its just to "increase white guilt" are spouting rubbish.

I ask any white guy out there would you want to go through what a black man has had to in the US? None would say yes. Because you know how it can be.

I love Black History Month and I think it's great thing. I don't even care if some people have a problem with it because they don't matter. Black History Month isn't going away and nothing they say will change that so they can just get over it.

I realize that we didn't experience the same hardships our ancestors did, but their trials and tribulations are to be honored and respected. As for black history month specifically, I question why we need to designate a specific time to examine and remember history of a specific group. History is in the past and can and be studied whenever. What I do find disturbing is people today trying to cash in on things like this.

Not all white people had it easier than blacks, how about Polish people who were gassed in the gas chambers, I think I would rather be called names. I think to make everything fair to everyone that their should be a Black History month as long as there can also be a White History Month,Chinese,Indian etc. No one should be singled out in my opinion.

I think that's it ok. Everyone has a right to celebrate. If whites wanted to celebrate white history month that would be just fine. I'm half black half white and I really wouldn't care if I had to celebrate both. Every race has some good history so why shouldn't everyone be able to celebrate.
