MY DAUGHTER BOUGHT A MOTOROLA L6(factory sealed) from a vendor on e-Bay, it is apparently set up for a network in Greece because the lingo is Greek. I installed my sim card in it and just got a sim message in greek. my network is cingular and the store I deal with says go to google and search. I did that and tried a couple that advertised unlocking ability. I paid the fee and received an e-mail that my money was being refunded because they could'nt ulock it. I'm new to this cell phone thing so I'm pretty much at the end of my rope! I heard alot about smart people on this site ,HELP ME!!!!

First of all, when she bought the phone, was it advertised as unlocked? If so, email the seller with this complaint and see if they will take the phone back for a refund. Most (98%) reputable Ebay sellers are cooperative and will do this if there is a problem, especially from their poor advertising practices.
Second, which provider in Greece are you getting the message from? OTE? TIM? Does it say?
If you end up having to contact a provider here in Greece to get an unlock code, I wish you the best of luck as I think you may be chasing a white elephant to get that info...speaking from personal experience living in Athens.

I would very strongly urge to Ebay seller to take the phone back if advertised as "unlocked"

Best of luck to you...or "Kali tiki" as we say here in Greece.
