I have one that I use in my home office--it's going right now in this room. I use it when I am in this room and turn it off when I leave. The impact on my electric bill hasn't been enough that I can really say how much it costs. My bill usually fluctuates between 60-70 bucks a month in the winter and it still is. I do keep my gas furnace a few degrees lower however, since I have this room heater. I keep mine 6 inches from the wall and the fan is pretty quiet--it doesn't bother me. The one I have has a footprint the size of a phonebook. I'm thinking of getting another for the laundry room in the basement.
