When Bush threatens against any opposition to his Iraq policy of increasing troops, he uses the issue of supporting the troops as its foundation.

Now this to me seems kind of shady since many including some republicans are against sending more troops in to die.

So I ask you this:

Isn't bringing the troops home from an unjust war the greatest sign of support an American can give?

Isn't keeping them there non-support now that we know the war was based on false intellegence.

I think the support stands in the face of truth when you discuss it as saving more lives by bringing them home.

I think it doesn't make any sense to send in more troops and put them at risk, especially due to the fact that the numbers of troops they are sending are not going to make any difference during this quagmire and in the middle of civil war.

What makes more sense?

Bush has set up the paradigm that says the choices are "stay and win" or "leave and lose". What about, taking the fight to the terrorists that are "pouring over the borders"? Hanging around Iraq for their civil war is not going catch any terrorists, Going into Iran or Saudi Arabia (where they're being trained) would.
Just because someone states the choices that doesn't mean they identified them all.

It is sad really! Osama Bin Laden said that "Americans can not stomach blood. That when the going gets tough, so do the Americans!" he is right. Remember what happened when we ditched the Afghan people after Russia was defeated there. Look what happened there. Now move forward 20 years. Look what you propose in Iraq. Think there will be a difference or a repeat of history?

america cannot show weakness and withdraw from iraq now,it will send a very strong message to the terrorists and encourage further attacks on america.
regarding the false intelligence, one must remember that hundreds of thousands of saddms own citizens were murdered in the most gruesome way by means of biological weapons the iraqis were experomenting with.the thousands of dead belie the myth of no wmd.they were easy to hide or move to iran.the democrats want to lead america to another lost as in vietnam.
america is trying to be the worlds policeman ,when most other countries stand by and do nothing to allevite immense suffering.

he uses the "support" phrase to make people think his BS is patriotic. Some Americans actually fall for this because they really are that stupid, but the majority knows it's bs and that's the reason for all the controversy. He has the idea he's addressing his collage buddies his bag of dope is bigger! He's lost contact with reality and needs to under go physciatric help.

You're going to get blasted for this question. Yes, bringing them home is the way to show you support them, leaving them their to die for a failed policy is not supporting them or the American voters, and adding more is giving the finger to those same voters.

When FDR allowed Pearl Harbor to be attacked so he could get into WW2, I knew there was something shady.

So using todays logic, after we lost over 1000 guys on Guadalcanal, shouldn't FDR have pulled the plug and asked the Japanese and Nazi for a truce and peace deal?

More troops = more firepower, thus destroying more insurgents, insuring victory......

If you don't support the war you don't support the troops....Compare it to being against abortion, but supporting the abortion clinics and doctors......Silly isnt it?
