Patriotism to me means sticking up and defending your country and president just as much as it means questioning it and attacking it. I'm tired of being called a fascist brainwashed nazi for not jumping on the liberal bandwagon. I love my country, I support my president, and I'm tired of people denouncing their own country and their own president while insisting that they are being patriotic. NOTHING patriotic about burning flags, calling your president horrible names, and putting down your own country. You don't have to agree with everything our government does, but siding with the enemy is anything BUT patriotic.

to me it means loving caring respecting the people who dared to come here and settle this country and died because they had a vision of what america was to become. it means i would fight and die for my country and my people.

You love your country and support the principles outlined in documents such as the constitution and are willing to defend those principles.

That doesn't mean you support the policies of any one man, group or leaders.

Being loyal and willing to fight for the tenants of your country, and defending your country against invaders.

Not necessarilly blindly following stupid leaders.

simply put: keeping an eye on the leadership.
The opposite of patriotism would be to blindly swallow the caca government spews. lol.
