Well, I own fast cars because they are fun. Ask my wife, she likes them too, and she drives faster than me!

It's how we express ourselves. With all that speed and power, plus the beauty that can be seen from miles away. An example would be my car, a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII which can dip and is know to be the best Evo, or at least I think so because I own one. Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, McLaren, and all other exotic cars are what separates us from the boring life and takes us into the fun life. I am not saying that speeding is smart and that you should kill your self and all, but I just have a thing for cars. I enjoy exotic cars and always will enjoy them.

Plain and simple cars are phalic symbols . Since our society is is so car crazy(I have 3 and I'm single) it is a way to show status,power,and a precieved sexual desireabilty or so we as PETER PAN speed junkies would have you believe.To illustrate I own a neat little mustang that was fast enough and ran good ,but when a subaru wrx showed me his tail lights IT WAS ON! So when I returned to work I picked up the phone and ordered up a 500hp engine and had it installed for almost $5000.00 (five grand) Guess what happened next time I came accross MR. SUBARU!

i dont know about the dominance thing but most of my friends and i just want to go fast. its also used as a way to meet people with the same interests as you. for example we get together to watch sports and go to sports bars. so for some odd reason us guys with fast cars like doing similar things no matter where we come from. i guess some people use it as an im better and faster than you but they are usually the ones playing alone. hope this leads to some insight.

because we are stupid and we don't know that a fast car is not as good to have as a good women is. but as we get older we see that and it is to late so the answer is because we don't know any better.

Guys like machinery and performance. They are competitive and want to have the best and the fastest.
They also like noise. They love loud mufflers and roaring motors.
It also shows others that they are successful.
I also think it may have something to do with all that "testosterone" in their bodies.........smile
