Watch it!!!!
It is not only a clock but a watch.
And as a matter of interest I am wearing the same watch my Mum bought me for passing the scholarship as a child of 11 and I am now 73 and that watch is still ticking away the second hand or, as you say, the third hand!!!
But it gets harder every day to wind it up because my fingers are not so nimble as they were when I was 11!!!

The answer is a clock. The three hands are the hour, the minute, and the second hands. Most people list them in decreasing magnitude, so the second hand is listed third ("the second really being the third") as it designates the shortest period of time.

This was a cute joke before timepieces went digital. The fact that I wind my clock makes me a dinosaur.
