Band versus band or Ozzy versus Axle? As far as sheer talent goes, Axle is much more talented and clearly has more vocal range. If you're looking for who has the most musical talent it's not even close...GNR by a mile.
Ozzy is more of a legend. He is probably better known for his stage antics than his music. Take kiss for instance. They're music was not that great but their showmanship was tremendous. Same goes for the Sex Pistols with their F--- everything attitude.
As for who is better, who knows? Music is not quantifiable so it's all up to the opinion of listener. I prefer GNR but I'm sure that there are plenty out there that don't. Certainly Ozzy has been more influential then GNR.

Ozzy Osbourne. Especially if you include Black Sabbath. Axl Rose is a tool. I'm not a huge fan of Ozzy, but he's much, much better than Guns N Roses. It's a shame because Slash really is a great guitarist. He's a lot better in Velvet Revolver if you ask me.

Ozzy in Sabbath is better than Guns N' Roses.
Guns N' Roses is better than Ozzy's solo work.

I like guns n roses. I like thier songs and music better. Ozzy Osborn is so dysfunctual. Not just on stage, but in real life too.

Ozzy, in his hey day. He could sing anything and sounded great. Guns n Roses would be up there but Axle Rose would be cut by Simon Cowell in round one. He really sucks.

I love GNR. They're both really good, but Slash's guitar playing and Axl's lyrics just mesh together so RIGHT. Ozzy's old stuff when he was with Black Sabbath is really good.
Wish GNR would get back together. I was too young to see them in concert when they were HOT!

Ozzy
He gave Guns N' Roses their job as far as I'm concerned. Without him or Sabbath, there would be no Guns N' Roses.
And also the music is better.

just depends on your musical preference.. i like some of ozzy's stuff.. but I love GNR...
Ozzy stuff is more metal and GNR is more along the lines of classic rock. I love 80's music.. so GNR is my band out of them and Ozzy.
