With my first pregnancy, I was joining the military over three years ago, was ready to go to medical processing and sign my contracts, when I had a pregnancy scare. I took a home test and it came back negative so I went ahead with going to processing. They did another test there and it came back negative. I swore in and came home to wait my 4 months before leaving to basic training. About two weeks later it struck me kinda weird that I hadn't had a period in a few months even thought I was testing negative so I went to work (at the time a home health agency) and mentioned it to some of the nurses. Right away they started making their bets that I was pregnant and sent me to the store. I bought the test, went back to work and took it while they waiting outside of the bathroom door..lol...and sure enough it was positive. After two false pregnancy tests, there was the positive..lol. I saw a doctor within the week and it turned out I was 3 months along.
With this pregnancy (my second), my husband and I were trying so I was hoping and took one of those tests that you can take before you miss your period. It came back negative but I went on base anyways a few days later and they gave me a blood test. I was two weeks along and the reason the home test had come back negative was that it was still to early for the hormone to be picked up.
There you go..Two examples..lol.

When I went to the doctor the first time for my blood and urine test they both came out being negative. I knew I was pregnant because I had done at at home test and that was positive. I was also very sick in the morning and was not getting my period. I went home and did another home pregnancy test and when that came out positive I made another doctors appointment. This time I took the at home test I had done the day before with me. He re tested me and it came out being positive the second time. The doctor said maybe the lab made a mistake when they processsed my blood and urine, which could happen because they are busy people.

Yes. I took a First responce a week late. It was negative. Took an EPT test the next day. Positive. Took another positive. Then Called the doctor. Two more postives. Some tests can't detect the hormone soon enough.

Over the counter tests where you pee on the stick can give false negatives because they measure a hormone that is only there when you're pregnant and sometimes even though you are pregnant, your body hasn't started producing enough of it for the test to detect. To be certain whether or not your pregnant, go to your doctor for a blood test.

i took several pregnancy tests before i got a postitive one. i was almost 2 weeks late by the time i got a positive one. your body has to make enough hcg hormone to get the test to a plus. good luck! give it more time.
