the acrylics do thin your nails but that is about it. i wouldnt get gel nails instead. they last longer and they feel more natural. i have had both and i reccomend the gel because i am a nail bitter too and they stopped me.

Good Luck.......

Acrylics do ruin you're nails, there's no way around that. But if you have strong nails, they'll recover pretty fast. The glue on type will come of in a number of days, so if you want them for a special event, than they're good, but for longer periods of time the acrylics are definitely worth it.

All of them will do damage to your real nails.

The thing with acrylics is that they're not meant to be something you do once, and then get rid of them. If you're gonna do it, you should just be prepared to have acrylics for a long time (months or years). You'd probably need a couple of fills before your nails were a decent length, and again, they'd be weak underneath.

The glue on ones will also damage your nails...not quite as much, but then again, they'll be more likely to fall off sooner, and they'd need to be put on a couple of times before your nails actually get to any decent length.

I'm going to recommend silk wraps. This is where the manicurist applies small strips of silk to your real nails, almost like a mummy wrapping, or like a cast is put on a broken limb. It adds strength, but allows the nails to breathe as much as they would with just a polish coat. It's not difficult, so you might even be able to do it yourself, if you're patient, and can find the right kind of kit.

I used to be a nail biter, too. The only way I have been successful in having pretty fingernails is to get acrylics. I love them, and fully expect that I'll be buried with them.

initiate by using submitting the nails down as much as obtainable, then record the actually face of the synthetic nail so that's tough. Then get a bowl of warmth water (no longer boiling yet warm), then fill a smaller (acetone friendly) bowl with acetone or nail polish remover with acetone in it and waft this bowl interior the bowl of warmth water. Soak your nails interior the acetone interior the smaller bowl for greater or less 10 minutes (the warmth from the warmth water will velocity up the chemical technique). Then eliminate and applying a nail record gentle record away the acrylic/silk. If there continues to be lot of the product left on your nail soak your nails for a added 10 minutes. once you have bumped off all the synthetic nail, wash your hands and be conscious a lot of hand cream as acetone is rather drying to the floor.

I'd definitely get acrylic nails. The glue on ones get torn off too easily. But if you do, make sure you go to a good place. Acrylics only hurt if you get them taken off. They don't ruin your regular nails, but if you do get them taken off, the nail underneath it will be thin and fragile

Acrylics are hard on the real nails, however they do last a lot longer and are more durable that glue on types

actually acrylics dont ruin ur nails its just that they wear off over time and some people may pick at it. i recomend the glue kind if your goin to use the nails for a short period of time. if ur goin to use it for like a long time i recommend acrylics.

neither when you get acrylics they file your nails down and make them thinner which is a pain when u get them taken off because even if they did grow out a bit theyre fragile and break easily. and glue doesnt help either because it dries the natural enamel on your nails. you should just buy some fortifying clear gloss.

All artificial nail tips are glued on to begin with, then as they grow they are just filled in with the acrylic. I would get them put on very short so you can get used to them, once you are used to them they are great. when you are ready to take them off don't tear them off and your real nail should be fine. It will take a little time for you to grow your real nails out but they will be fine

neither the thing that i suggest is if you want long nails put nasty tasting things on your nails so that you wont bite them.the acrylic nails make your real nails soft and the fake nails can pop off and leave glue on your real ones

Neither, all fake nails ruin your real nails. I used to bite my nails soooo bad, so i know how you feel. Buy Triple Strong by Sally Hassen, it's just a clear coat but it helps your nail grow. Once you do start to see them grow, you won't want to bite them, because you'll see how pretty they are how much more girly you feel when you have nails. I worked for me!
