They look at your whole GPA. If your total GPA is in the range they'll accept, you'll get in. What they'll accept for you changes based on what you score on the SAT/ACT, your extra currics, etc. It also depends on what you consider a "good" school. Some have higher standards than others.

It depends on 3 things:
1. What you mean by "good" college? With c's and AP classes, colleges like MIT or Yale are out (unless you have a real good reason for the c's) but colleges like University of Michigan or Notre Dame may still be in reach if you have an otherwise strong record.
2. Also, where did you get the c's? Colleges look at grades, but also the classes and the school. If you got the c's in AP classes, it is much better than getting the c's in easier classes like pre-algebra. Also, if you go to a school with a reputation for being tough, that will help too.
3. What did you get on the AP exams? Some schools don't teach AP classes like they are supposed to (but that will end this year with new rules) but if you get a 4 or 5 on the exams in your junior year or earlier, that looks good.

Yes, most definitely.

My boyfriend goes to a school which is one of the top 100 liberal arts schools in the nation and had a solid B- average. Just make sure you have great extra curricular activities, some work experience, outstanding teacher recommendations, and most importantly, interview with your school.

Good Luck!

It kind of depends on the classes you got C's for, what your other grades are (especially the AP classes) and how the rest of your college application will look like. Extracurricular activities, SAT scores and such.

I don't think a C or two will scar you for life. :)
