I'm a Liverpool fan and still I'm annoyed with this question. Aston Villa are a never have been never will team and Newcastle reeks quality - from the stadium to the fans, to the football. Aston Villa have no right to compare themselves with Newcastle AT THE MOMENT, given the circumstances and the next time the two clubs meet (and if Newcastle have stronger squad options) I'm 100% certain the Magpies will demonstrate just how much their injured players were missed. Barry for England!

Newcastle's chairman is rich, so he can finance any big names players he likes. I think he has no football knowledge whatsoever. He bought managers and sack them after the team's failed to perform in the league. He has no patience for the managers and that resulted in their poor performances. The managers fearing his temper, would find excuses and keep buying big name players who they believe will lift them up. But it will always results in the players becoming over complacent after the big money moves to Newcastle. And when pressure is placed on the big name players, they will get injured and the whole team start suffering again. O'Neill is aware of this and avoided joining Newcastle. Aston Villa has a very good manager but he needs time to build his team up. Rome is not built in a day.

Newcastle United are a club, who usually have fantastic backing by there supporters, but you have to remember that January is an expensive month to be foolowing football and we are just coming off the back of Christmas.
Newcastle United have being unlucky with injuries, not only this season, but for the last two season's in general, with Scott Parker, Michael Owen, Shay Given, Damian Duff, Alan Shearer was even out brifely before retiting.

Er, I don't think Villa's a decent team either unless you want your team to draw every game.
Newcastle need a world class manager - not a run of the mill guy like Roeder (even if he is a good, decent man). We also need a proper defence and we need Solano in midfield where he is at his best.

If your referring to the crowd there tonight it's a cup match on freezing cold Jan evening which is on BBC 1 normally a sell out of just over 52,000.
Yes injury is a problem, but we're not always moaning, being a Villa fan are you stuck with that God damn awful Brummie accent, never mind our failings your stuck with that mate!!!

Newcastle never were a big club and never will be. A big crowd doesnt equal a big club, especially when theres only 1 club in the city. How many trophies have they won? Exactly. By the way, im scottish, not from sunderland

You'll be happy with this result then. I am not too bothered as my team, Preston are already through. I know a few Newcastle fans and they won't be happy tonight but the best team is winning.
