What should I do if I'm looking at a job posting and am not clear on what they're looking for?

The listing has a job capsule section and additional details. The job capsule lists everything I do now in my current job, but the additional details lists what looks like a completely different role (more of a consultant based role than administrative role).

The hiring manager's name and number is listed, would you call it for clarification?

Most likely, the job involves a combination of what you're doing now PLUS some additional responsibilities. That capsule section are probably the most important and/or required elements of the job, while the additional details is listing some additional things that you need to do on the job.

However, there's nothing wrong with contacting them for clarification purposes.

I would call and explain that you were interested in possibly applying for the job you just wanted more clarification as what they are looking for. It's better to ask now than to send in your resume have them set up an interview and waste everyones time.
