If either sent him it makes him seem a simple pawn in some metaphysical chess match and if Einstein's a simple pawn, what does that make us?

If his fate (to do good or to do evil, whatever your opinion) was predetermined, then what is the point of existence?

You can ask whether Einstein's contributions to the world/humanity/entity of your choice was beneficial or harmful to that entity, but to presume that he was "sent" leaves no room for free will and without free will your question and it's answer is meaningless.

and Zane R: Einstein was neither a devout nor any other kind of Christian. He was born and raised a Jew, but drifted away from organized religion as he grew older.

Albert Einstein was a devout christian. beyond that his theory of relativity and the big bang theory are accepted by the catholic church as in accordance with the old testament. (received papal endorsement in the early seventies)

Well I personally believe that Satan cannot create anything he can only damage, destroy, and twist. So I would have to say God. He made Hitler, Mother Theresa, JFK . . .everybody---Satan does the twisting into something evil.

God sent him and Satan influenced him. But if you are an atheist, he was just born brilliant.
