Switching will save you money. I think Which? offer this service too. As the Consumer Association is independent and reputable, I'd be tempted to use them for the switch.
It is hassle free.

I used them to find out who my cheapest supplier was then contacted the company directly myself. Its not been easy as my old supplier seems to keep losing my final readings. My new supplier certainly seems to be cheaper but really its early days and only time will tell.
